After five years in business as a CPA, he left behind a successful business career to follow God’s call to preach the glorious Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was licensed to preach in June, 1973, by First Baptist Church, Jackson, Mississippi. He went on to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he received the Master of Divinity degree in 1976. He served three growing churches as pastor before entering full-time evangelism in January of 1980.
During the last 45 years in full-time vocational evangelism, Gary has preached over 1,200 revival crusades across America and in several foreign countries.
He has served his peers on three different occasions as President of the Conference of Mississippi Baptist Evangelists and has been a keynote speaker three times at the Mississippi State Evangelism Conference and many other Bible conferences.
He was one of the featured speakers in June of 2005 in Nashville at the Southern Baptist Convention-wide worship service at the Ryman Auditorium.
